USGS Digital Elevation Model (1 degree) (*.dem)

This dataset is often referred to as 3 second arc or 1:250,000 scale USGS DEM data. The data is an ASCII based raster format containing elevation data.

The expected extension is *.DEM. 

This is a memory based dataset.
