Binary Terrain Format (*.bt)

Binary Terrain Format is used for elevation data in the VTP (Virtual Terrain Project http://vterrain.org/) software.

The BT format holds terrain data including an x, y location and a height in metres above seal level, or negative values below sea level.

The expected file extension is *.BT but can be accompanied by a projection file *.PRJ. The PRJ file can contain the well-known-text (WKT) for the coordinate system and the EPSG code for a specific datum.

This is a memory based dataset.
