ESRI’s Personal Geodatabase file format is a based around the Microsoft Access file format .mdb and is therefore restricted to the usual Access storage limits. It is made up of multiple tables with the geometry being stored in binary in a Binary Large OBject (BLOB) column. Unlike individual Shape Files, the Geodatabase can store multiple geometry types within one file, albeit in separate tables. SIS will read multiple geometry tables and create individual overlays for each table. It is also possible on adding the data source to only add a selection of the tables.
This is a cursor based dataset.
