SIS can read in Oracle GeoRaster data from 10g and later versions of Oracle. GeoRaster is Oracle’s storage format for storing raster and grid data within the Oracle database. Once connected to the data source, SIS allows configuration of Bands, Colour model, Stretching and Resampling to further enhance the visualisation of the raster data.
The maximum size of a GeoRaster dataset that can be read into SIS is 200MB. If the file size is greater than 200MB a solution is to create a pyramid over the mosaic. This enables the "Dynamic" connection option, allowing the data to be queried at the most appropriate resolution for the current screen resolution and extents.
