North Point

A North Point is a special kind of Point item that automatically rotates itself to match the angle of the contents of a Map Frame item. This is useful for placing North symbols on Print Template objects.

The North Point item orientates itself uses the Map Frame angle property of the Map Frame item. It is therefore important that the Symbol used contains the correct relative orientation to take into account other factors, such as the difference between magnetic north, grid north, and true north.

  The C++ class used to store an item's geometry. This is handled automatically. You can see what precision an item's geometry is stored with by recognising the geometry classes.
