Commuter licensing allows the use of SIS on a portable computer that is not connected to the network.
The most common use of commuter licensing is when a user needs to use SIS away from the network. If the licence has been defined to allow commuter licensing, the network user can check out a licence to use the application for the required duration (number of days), and then check the licence back in on returning to the network. If the licence is not checked back in before the expiry date then the licence will expire on the portable computer and be made available back on the original server.
Note: Before using SIS on a computer away from the network make a copy of the startup shortcut and delete the “--SentinelRMSServerList” value. If the original shortcut is used SIS will fail as it will attempt to obtain the licence from the network rather than use the checked-out licence.
