Licence server backup is provided by using redundant licence servers.
This is the fail safe method where licences are shared amongst servers so that in the event of a failure of the primary licence server a secondary server will take on the role of primary licence server.
Using this method all of the redundant licence servers at a site form a licence server pool. Each of the licence servers in the pool can take over for any other if one of the licence servers should fail. Each licence server runs on a separate computer on the network.
Up to 11 licence servers can be used to provide licence server redundancy, however a minimum of three must be used.
A decision on how many redundant licence servers to set up and select the computers on which they will reside must be made prior to licences being created. A number of factors, including network performance, will affect this decision.
Licence servers will be locked to specific computers; therefore you must provide Cadcorp with the locking code for each computer on which a redundant licence server is to be installed.

If Server 1 fails licences are transferred to Server 2:
This process will be repeated up to Server n.
