About Incident Data

Incident Data can be loaded using information from either an Access Database or a SQL Server Database.

You will be offered a choice when using the New and Open options.

Data model

The incident data is primarily read from two files:

  • incidents record - contains the Station to which the incident was assigned.
  • callsigns record - contains the id of the appliance responding to the incident.

The incidents record contains the station to which the incident was assigned.

The callsigns record contains the ID of the appliance responding to the incident.

Note: The term callsigns refers to appliance identifiers; these are loaded into the Callouts table.

Relationship between Incidents, Callouts, Stations and Appliances

This data model diagram shows the relationship between Incidents, Callouts, Stations and Appliances:

The blue boxes represent tables in the database which have been pre-populated with known data:

  • A table of all stations (bases) used;
  • A table of all appliances used;
  • A table showing where each appliance is based;
  • A table of vehicle classes, e.g. PRL, TRV, etc.

When incident data is loaded into the database, Workload Modeller checks to see if the specified stations and appliances are defined in the database.
