Log

Find extensive information about the GeognoSIS server in the Log section.

The log can include information such as server start-up date and time, period the server has been running, when sessions are started or ended and individual requests on the service.

TIP: Cadcorp advise you not to log individual requests except for debugging purposes.

Click on Log to display the Event Log:

To determine what events need to be logged, click Properties.

Event Description

Errors

Any errors discovered by GeognoSIS will be displayed in the Event Viewer.

Server

Server events such as Starting and Stopping the GeognoSIS instance will be displayed in the Event Viewer.

Session

GeognoSIS session events such as Create and Destroy will be displayed in the Event Viewer.

Warnings

Any warnings discovered by GeognoSIS will be displayed in the Event Viewer.

File Log

You can save the event log as a file of your choice. Click Enabled to turn on this option.

File Name: The name of the log file (*.log) and its location. Enter the complete path where this file will reside (eg D:\MyFolder\Test.log)

Maximum Size: The maximum size of the file in KB. 0 means unlimited.

Remember a particularly large log file will reduce GeognoSIS's performance; so use caution while choosing items to be logged.
