Insert *

Insert * inserts a copy of the selected Insert items into the current overlay.

Select CAD > Insert*.

You can also right-click in the Map Window and select Insert*.

Note: The copies are not Insert items which refer to graphics in Blocks but LineString items etc. out of which the original Blocks were made.

If you have read in an AutoCAD DXF or DWG file containing multiple Blocks, this command will insert them into an editable overlay and explode them at the same time.

The new items will also take on the precision of the current overlay's dataset. This means the Insert* command is useful for reducing the amount of memory needed for bulky AutoCAD DXF or DWG data.
