Changing the overlay Pen

Each overlay is automatically assigned a Pen; this is called the overlay Pen (By Overlay).

To change the overlay Pen:

  1. Open the Overlays dialog and select Styles tab:

  2. Select the overlay, i.e. Overlay 3, for which you want to change the Pen settings.
  3. Click on the required Pen in the drop-down list.
  4. Click OK to close the dialog.

All graphics on that overlay (Overlay 3) which use the (By Overlay) Pen will now use the Pen you have just chosen.

Forcing the Pen of all graphics on an overlay

  1. Display the Overlays dialog and select the Style tab.
  2. Select the overlay for which you want to change the Pen.
  3. Choose a Pen from the drop-down list.
  4. Check the Override tickbox adjacent to the Pen colour drop-down box, then click OK.

Forcing the colour of all Pens on an overlay

  1. Display the Overlays dialog and select the Style tab.
  2. Select the overlay for which you want to force the colour.
  3. Choose a Pen from the drop-down list.
  4. Check the Override tickbox adjacent to the Pen colour drop-down box. Choose a Pen colour from the drop-down box. This can be from the basic colours or your previously-defined custom colours. Alternatively you can click on More Colours to create a new custom colour. Then click OK.
