Commuter Licences

This is also known as ‘checking out’ a licence; it allows users to commute a licence and use SIS Desktop on a portable computer for a defined period of time.

Commuting a licence is particularly useful if you are on the road or at a client site.

In this option, licensing for the chosen machine becomes standalone whilst the licence count on the network licence server is reduced by one.

The commuted licence will automatically expire on the standalone machine and become available again on the network licence server after the expiry time.

Note: We recommend checking the licence back in BEFORE it expires. If it does expire, remove it from the standalone machine. (See also Remove expired commuted licence)

Before using Cadcorp SIS Desktop on a computer away from the network make a copy of the startup shortcut and delete the “--SentinelRMSServerList” value. If the original shortcut is used Cadcorp SIS Desktop will fail as it will attempt to obtain the licence from the network rather than use the checked-out licence.
