Click Add Overlay > Files > Imported File to create a new file (a BDS, FDB or an IDB file).
The File option can load READ only data while the Imported File enables data to be instantly opened for editing.
TIP: Remember the original file is NOT being edited. A copy of the file is translated into SIS's internal format. The user will need to export the data after editing either by overwriting the original file or creating a new file.
Any of the supported file formats can be imported as editable overlays.
