JPEG RGB (*.jpg)

24-bit, 16.7 million colour JPEG.

Export as a jpeg raster (*.jpg).

JPEG is a lossy compression system which can achieve very high compression factors without picture quality suffering too much - discarding information that the human eye cannot see – slight changes in colour for instance. Works well on colour photographs, works less well on line drawings, where the compression algorithm tends to blur sharp edges and thin lines.

When exporting to JPEG (RGB) (*.jpg) the following Raster Exporter Configuration dialog is displayed:

Configuration

Specifies the image resolution.

Image Width/Height

Specifies the output file size in pixels for width and height and the pixel size is in map units.

Compression Quality

Create Worldfile
