Add Database Connection
Database connections are used for Quick Search and the ReportIT services. Use Add Connection to add them to webMapLayersConfig.db
You have a choice of databases to select from inside the drop-down menu.
Click on the required database and enter the connection requirements.
1. Access

Enter a name for the connection. |

The name or IP address of the server hosting the database. |

Provider |
Use the drop-down menu to specify the provider. Microsoft.Jet.OleDb is an older database engine. From version 2007 onwards, Access includes an Office-specific version of Jet called the Office Access Connectivity Engine (ACE). This engine is fully backward-compatible with previous versions of the Jet engine and reads and writes (.mdb) files from earlier Access versions. |

The PostGis database user name. |

The password for the specified PostGis database user name |
2. SQL Server/SQLite

3. Oracle

4. PostGIS

Port |
The port the database listens to. |

Specify the database name to connect to. |

The PostGIS database user name. |

5. Web Service
Some examples of web services used for searches are Aligned Assets, OS Open Names, OS Open Places etc.
Database connections are used for Quick Search and the ReportIT services. Use Add Connection to add them to webMapLayersConfig.db

Click Add.
Note: The database encrypts the connection string for security purposes, however they can still be identified by their Name column. The ConnectionStringID is generated by the database; use this number when setting up the Quick Search and the ReportIT services.
