Post-installation troubleshooting
- If you encounter licensing issues, ensure this string SIS|OCX|Mdl|ETL exists in the licence file used by SIS Desktop (usually found in C:\Program Files\Cadcorp SIS Desktop 9)
- Database issues: In a standard installation, ETL is installed by default into C:\Program Files\Cadcorp SIS ETL. The Access database is also copied to these installation folders.
Remember however ETL cannot bypass Windows folder security. To resolve any database issues (see below) simply copy the Access database from the Program Files folder to the location in which it is used e.g. C:\Cadcorp. - Try running Cadcorp SIS ETL when logged in as Administrator.
- Test the tool on a single file (if it fails it might end up only removing tables from db and then failing to create the updated ones)
- Exports to SQL Server may fail if the user does not have explicit db_owner privileges.
- Licensing Issues: When using Network Licences, the Cadcorp ETL service should be run as a user (it should also have the variable CADCORP_LICENCE_SERVER_LIST listed as a user variable.)
- This is because SIS ETL uses the SIS ActiveX component (which is license the same way as SIS desktop)
- See SIS Desktop help
for more information.
