Log
Find extensive information about the GeognoSIS server in the Log section.
The log can include information like server start-up date and time, period the server has been running, when sessions are started or ended and individual requests on the service.
Cadcorp advise you not to log individual requests except for debugging purposes.
Click on Log and select Event Log or File Log:
Options
To determine what events need to be logged, click Options and enable individual events.
Event | Description |
Errors |
Any errors discovered by GeognoSIS. |
Requests | Individual requests on the service. |
Server |
Server events such as Starting and Stopping the GeognoSIS instance. |
Session |
GeognoSIS session events such as Create and Destroy will be displayed in the Event Viewer. |
Stored Procedure Calls | List of known (User-Defined) Stored Procedures. These are public functions drawn from DLLs placed in the product's StoredProcedures/DotNet folder and JAR files placed in the product's StoredProcedures/Java folder. |
Warnings |
Any warnings discovered by GeognoSIS will be displayed in the Event Viewer. |
File Log
You can save the event log as a file of your choice. Navigate to File Log and click Options > Enabled to turn on this option.
File Name: The name of the log file (*.log) and its location. Enter the complete path where this file will reside (eg D:\MyFolder\Test.log)
Maximum Size: The maximum size of the file in KB. 0 means unlimited.
Remember a particularly large log file will reduce GeognoSIS' performance; so use caution when selecting items to be logged.
