GeognoSIS 9.1 is a geospatial web services engine and web map server.
It makes the wide-ranging functionality of Cadcorp SIS Desktop available over the web for interactive mapping applications.
You can also use it over a corporate intranet or extranet for enterprise-wide deployment of GIS and mapping services.
Cadcorp GeognoSIS 9.1 forms part of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and is a Microsoft Windows Service that responds to requests from application code.
GeognoSIS provides:
- Access to the power of Cadcorp SIS Desktop through a comprehensive API. Use this API to handle simple spatial queries to complex GIS analysis.
- Direct reading of GIS, CAD and database data sources which means data translation is unnecessary.
- A familiar development environment with no new proprietary languages to learn.
- A flexible deployment capability ideal for distributed applications running in multi-processor, multi-server environments.
- GeognoSIS-based applications can be delivered as ultra-thin clients (like SIS WebMap) and is immediately accessible in any HTML browser without any special browser "plug-ins”.
The GeognoSIS Manager is used by both GeognoSIS and GeognoSIS Express for the management of data and services.
The interface used by GeognoSIS Manager is the same for both products. However with only a GeognoSIS Express licence certain options in GeognoSIS Manager may be restricted.
