Optional Feature Coding
When data is stored in a spatial table, there is no symbology stored in the database.
Instead attributes of the data can be used by the client application to style the data. The most efficient way of doing this in Cadcorp SIS Desktop 9.1 is to copy a Feature Table.
If you intend to use a Feature Table with your overlay, you must ensure that the spatial layer in the database contains the appropriate Feature Code attribute.
If your data was loaded using the Cadcorp SIS Desktop 9.1 OS MasterMap Loader, the Feature Code is exported for you. If you created your dataset using the export utility in Cadcorp SIS Desktop 9.1 you must ensure that the Feature Code column is listed in the overlay schema before exporting the overlay.
Alternatively if there is no Feature Code you can add a new attribute.
Applying a Feature Table
On the Oracle Spatial/Locator Connection dialog:
Select the Feature Code attribute from the Feature Code Column drop-down list. Attributes specified as integers in the database are displayed in the list.
Select the appropriate Feature Table from the Feature Table drop-down list.
Note: If you do not want to add the Feature Code Column and the Feature Table as the overlay is added, you can change these fields using the Dataset - Properties dialog.
