Click Add Overlay > Files > Imported File to create a new file (a BDS, FDB or an IDB file).
The File option can load READ only data while the Imported File enables data to be instantly opened for editing.
Remember the original file is NOT being edited. A copy of the file is translated into SIS's internal format. The user will need to export the data after editing either by overwriting the original file or creating a new file.
Any of the supported file formats can be imported as editable overlays.
