Editing items which have attribute data
When an item is edited, SIS generally tries to retain its user-defined attribute data.
- If a LineString item is converted to a Polygon or vice versa, attribute data is retained.
- If two LineString items are joined, the resulting LineString item retains the attributes from the dominant item. The dominant item is the last item selected. However you can make any selected item dominant by simply clicking on it with the CTRL key held down.
- If a LineString item is split in two using Delete Path (CAD > Alter) both resulting LineString items will hold identical data.
Note: Remember some operations can result in the loss of attributes. Examples are converting LineString and Polygon items to topology, converting text items to Polygon items and creating symbols.
