User Interface

To open a map, use the URL provided during installation or the URL provided by your Administrator.

The map user interface has been specifically designed to enhance your map viewing experience.

All options including the main menu are discreetly placed around the edges of the screen and the Key Map View window can be switched off when not in use.

Click the Menu button to access all WebMap options. Use the Expand button to hide the menu when not in use.

Quick Search allows simple, intuitive spatial searching by area on multiple overlays. It provides searching capabilities based on databases or services. You can search for addresses, postcodes, buildings, incident numbers or IDs.

Search results are dependent on definitions set up by your system administrator.

  1. Click the Search button and start typing the name of the road or the postcode.

  2. Possible matches will be displayed.

Share automatically converts the active mapping location into a shareable link. Related Topics Link IconRelated Topics

Copy the generated URL to use in emails/messages or social media (Facebook, Twitter and GooglePlus). You can also choose to include the map pin icons and/or a shortened URL.

Click the Account button to see information related to your profile. This shows a list of maps available to you. Use the drop-down menu to switch between maps.

Select Profile to update or change your password.

Click Location to instantly move and center the map on your current physical location.

On a desktop computer SIS WebMap uses your system’s IP address to give a very close approximation.

Mobile devices use GPS information and are even more accurate in identifying your current location.

Use the Quick Access panel to:

  • Use and access tool options and layers
  • Adjust opacity
  • View metadata

The right-hand panel displays available layers while the left hand panel changes for different tool options.

Click on the Metadata icon to view detailed information:
