Security Considerations

Cadcorp recommends users set up their SIS WebMap server/domain with SSL security. This means the address for the website will begin with https.

SSL security is advantageous because it:

• Allows access from clients where the Firewall rules are in place to prevent users from making POST requests.
• Uses secure and encrypted requests.
• Enables the site to be flagged as trusted when geolocation is used.
• Enables only trusted sites to be linked back to SIS WebMap 9.1

Cadcorp recommends the WebMap server has its own SSL certificate applied. For hosted solutions, Cadcorp will automatically apply certificates to SIS WebMap installed servers.
