Experienced SIS users will be familiar with the basics of creating their own print templates. This topic describes the additional tools needed to get the best from Book Plotter. It also includes some tips which are general to all print templates, but users should refer to SIS online Help for full details about Print Templates.
The easiest way to create a special Book Plotter template is to recall one of your own standard templates and supplement it with the additional features provided by Book Plotter.
This topic uses the standard A4 Landscape template supplied with the SIS installation as an example.
Select Recall Print Template [File-Print Template]:
The Open Print Template dialog will be displayed:
Select the A4 Landscape template from the Cadcorp Classic folder and click OK.
The template will be displayed:
Whether you chose to modify an existing template, or use Book Plotter New map frame option in the Print Template Tools dialog to create a new one, you will want to store the template for later use.
Select Store Print Template [File-Print Template]:
Enter a name for the template. It is best to identify the size and orientation of the template in its name. It is also a good idea to indicate that this is a template for use with the Book Plotter, e.g. A3 Book Portrait.
When you click OK in the Save Print Template As dialog the template will be stored in the current editable NOL. If one is not available the temporary library will be used. If this is the case you should copy the template to a permanent library before closing your SIS session.
When you close the SWD containing the template graphics you will be prompted to save it. This is not really necessary as the template can easily be recalled from the library if further modifications are required.
