Y lets you build up a compound position from two or three snaps.
For example, suppose that you want to build a position which is 10m above an existing Point item: To do this you would snap the X and Y buttons, then snap the Point item, and then type the coordinate "0,0,10m".
You can use compound positions in most drawing and editing commands.
