Scale Bar

 Scale Bar (or Create Scale Bar in the local menu) creates an item to show the scale of the current Map Frame's view.

If you have not defined a scale bar when creating the print template, use the Paper tab options to add it in at a later date. Related Topics

Select Paper > Annotate > Scale Bar (alternatively right-click and use the local context menu)

The Symbol which the Scale Bar item refers to must be inside the special folder "*SB".

Before you can create a Scale Bar item you must create at least one Symbol in this folder (use (Create > Miscellaneous > Symbol).

The Scale Bar item's Symbol is unusual, as it must be drawn at world size - most Symbol objects are drawn in paper size.

TIP: We recommend you create a scale bar in paper size at scale 1:1, also ensure the dataset scale is set to 1.
