JPEG (Grayscale) (*.jpg)
Export as a grayscale jpeg raster (*.jpg).
JPEG is a lossy compression system which can achieve very high compression factors without picture quality suffering too much - discarding information that the human eye cannot see. Works well on photographs, works less well on line drawings, where the compression algorithm tends to blur sharp edges and thin lines.
When exporting to JPEG (Grayscale) (*.jpg) the following Raster Exporter Configuration dialog is displayed:
Configuration
Pixel Size
This option allows you to specify the image resolution.
Image Width/Height
This option allows you to specify the output file size in pixels for width and height and the pixel size is in map units.
Compression Quality
Select in the range 100 - 10. 100=good (lossless), 10=bad.
Create Worldfile
True or False, to create worldfile containing georeferencing information.
Dithering Algorithm
Select from Dither (GDI), Floyd-Steinberg, Snap (GDI), Snap (Palette).
