Create and define a path to the SWD
WebMap uses SIS-native SWD files to mine information for Local Knowledge. This SWD will not be displayed in WebMap itself – it is used purely for analysis. A sample Local Knowledge SWD is included with standard installations of WebMap 9.1. [C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SISWebMap9.1\SWD\ Local Knowledge 9-1 UK.swd]
The sample SWD has preset Local Knowledge configuration; it also include templates that are accessible through the WebMap Manager site.
Configuring the SWD
Each search query in Local Knowledge requires a separate overlay in the SWD. SWDs are created and edited in our desktop product CadcorpSIS Desktop
Overlays in the Local Knowledge SWD are displayed as Local Knowledge results.
Select Properties > Schema to choose the specific information sets to be displayed in the results. To do this:
-
Open Overlay Properties
-
Select “Schema”
-
Select the desired layer
-
Enable items to be displayed in WebMap Local knowledge.
-
Click Apply.
Ensure you have enabled map tips for the schema columns. Local Knowledge uses these map tips to filter data; they are particularly useful to limit the amount of data GeognoSIS/WebMap needs to sift through.
Defining the path to the SWD
Specify the path to the SWD in Add Local Knowledge.
