Location: Overlay Types dialog > Files > Imported File

Using Add Overlay – File, the user can load READ only data. Using the Add Overlay – Imported File method, the data is opened for EDIT straight away. Bear in mind however that the original file is NOT being edited. A copy of the file is translated into SIS's internal format. The user will need to export the data when editing is finished, either overwriting the original file or creating a new file.

Any of the supported file formats can be imported as editable overlays.
