Align to Axes

Applicability:

Ribbon Group:

CAD-Alter

Associated commands:

Align to Geometry

Description:

Align to Axes aligns the selected geometry to the coordinate reference system.

First select the item(s), then select this command. All segments which diverge by about 14 degrees or less are rotated so that they are aligned to the X and Y axes (any segments that would have to be rotated by more than 14 degrees are left alone). The LineString item segments are rotated about their midpoint in order to align them.

If you want to align to orientations other than 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees, you should use Rotate [CAD-Axes] first to make sure the axes are at the orientation you require.
