Maps
Web Map Layers 8.0 allows you to have multiple maps set up within one singe instance of GeognoSIS. Having multiple maps in the same instance allows you to access different maps through a simple addition to the sites URL.
For example, if Web Map Layers 8.0 is being used in an organisation with several departments who each have different mapping requirements such as; Education, Tourism and Environmental departments of a council, each department can have their specific maps set up and will be able to access them after the initial setup of the GeognoSIS instance, no further setup is required.
Details on how to create these maps are given in the sections below.
To view a map other than the one set as default add the following to the end of your Web Map Layers 8.0 URL:
?mapname=[Name of the map you wish to view]
Example:
If you have a map called Conservation that you do not want to be set as default for the Web Map Layers 8.0 site but want specific users to be able to access it, for example people within an environmental department, you would navigate to the following URL:
http://[Server name or IP address]/webmaplayers8/map.aspx?mapname=Conservation
